Infiniti Emerg-E revealed in Geneva Motor Show, last March 2012 |
After the first appereance in Geneva last march, finally the upscale of Nissan devision car, Infiniti Emerg-E makes its road debut for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Although the specification still the same with shown in Geneva, with two mid-mounted electric motors driving the rear wheels and a range-extending three-cylinder engine to keep the motors running when lithium-ion power runs out, the car offers up to 30 miles of emission-free driving and puts out 402 hp, making 0 to 60 mph in around 4 seconds and producing a top speed of 130mph. This Hybrid car was piloted by Red Bull Formula One driver Mark Webber.
One of the minor exterior changes that has a big impact for the latest version of the Infiniti Emerg-E, is addition of front and rear spoiler.
“We added the spoiler onto the cars because we needed to balance the front and rear lift of the car,” said Jerry Hardcastle (Vice President of Vehicle Design and Development for the Nissan Group Technology Centre Europe). “The spoiler was therefore specifically designed to be purely functional as opposed to being added just for design purposes."
